Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

We’re looking for an Inventory Clerk who is mission-driven and passionate about getting things done. Under the financial controller's supervision, you'll be responsible for executing day-to-day management of the inventory of goods and assisting on procurement ad-hoc duties, making sure we have an exhaustive follow-up at all times as we rapidly scale our business.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Verify the quality and quantity of items received against the packing list and report any discrepancies to the requesting department or procurement officer.
  • Organize new goods arrival and ensure safe and appropriate storage.
  • Track internal stock requests and ensure timely delivery to requesters.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels by performing regular demand/usage forecasting.
  • Ensure stock is always kept above alert thresholds, collaborating with the procurement department for timely restocking.
  • Organize and oversee regular inventory counts; investigate and report any discrepancies.
  • Improve inventory processes to streamline stock management.
  • Track order status and delivery timelines with vendors, ensuring alignment with internal collaborators.
  • Provide administrative support across the procurement workflow, ensuring completeness and accuracy of procurement documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the inventory database, in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Perform various ad-hoc duties within the procurement team as needed.

Key Details

  • This is a permanent position.
  • Location: You'll work from our office in Ouagadougou and may travel to field locations.
  • Work authorization in Burkina Faso.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in inventory management, accounting, financial or administrative activities.
  • Holds at least a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Administration, Business, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Logistics.
  • Basic understanding of procure-to-pay processes.
  • Strong command of Excel/Google Sheets for tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for cross-functional coordination.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable understanding of accounting principles.
