In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
Wave is now one of the largest financial institutions in Africa, the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. and, we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.
Our ambition is to be the #1 ranking brand in terms of followers and engagement on social media channels in every market we operate in. As the Social Media Coordinator, you'll be responsible for developing and executing our digital marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You'll manage all digital marketing channels (earned, paid, owned), working closely with our in-house design team and agency to develop engaging content and drive our digital KPIs. This is a temporary position (CDD).
In this role, you'll;
- Help execute strategic campaigns and content across all social channels in the local market.
- Brainstorm, conceptualize, and brief content based on our business and brand objectives.
- Supply clear, effective, and on-brand messaging based on guidance and documentation.
- Schedule and deploy campaigns and content across social platforms.
- Use content performance data to inform optimal posting schedules.
- Monitor, track, and report on content performance and community feedback on social media.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure content is on brand and supports the localization strategy.
- Constantly monitor social media to identify local trends and propose community engagement ideas.
- Contribute valuable insights to weekly meetings and content planning based on community observations, competitor analysis, and creative trends.
- Collaborate with local Ops teams (Agent, Distribution, Payment, and Bizdev) to ensure social content promotes the company’s growth initiatives.
- Champion social media moderation quality.
- Work closely with Digital Support, PR, and Brand Communications to establish best practices and processes that will benefit the community.
- Support corporate event coverage and content,t and contribute to the coordination of content production and planning, including but not limited to photography and video shoots.
- Support influencer marketing strategies and content production through a selection of influencers, content briefing, and contract negotiations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with production partners, influencers or other third parties.
- Report to the Digital Marketing Manager.

- Location: You'll work from our office in Abidjan.
- You must have work authorization in Côte d’Ivoire.
- This is a maternity replacement (temporary assignment - CDD).

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken French required.
- Proven knowledge of Côte d'Ivoire social media space.
