The Role

Duration: Full-time; Location: Remote (from UTC-5 to UTC+3), Preferred: Europe

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Head of Legal to join our team at the WalletConnect Foundation.

As Head of Legal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring sound legal arrangements and compliance, mitigating legal risks, and providing strategic legal advice to support the growth of the WalletConnect ecosystem. You will work closely with our leadership team (Founder, CFO, Executive Director and Board) to navigate the complex legal landscape of blockchain, crypto, and decentralized technologies.

The ideal candidate deeply understands the legal and regulatory frameworks governing Web3, crypto, and blockchain technologies. You will advise on various legal issues, including contract negotiations, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, governance, etc.

Day to Day:

• Provide strategic legal advice to the leadership team in the areas of blockchain technology, decentralized governance, tokenomics, and crypto regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including commercial agreements, partnerships, licensing, and vendor agreements.
• Ensure the Foundation complies with applicable laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures to ensure the organization's activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on organizational governance matters, including decentralized governance models, token-holder rights, and community-driven initiatives.
• Manage legal risks associated with emerging technologies and decentralized platforms.
• Liaise with external legal advisors, regulators, and industry bodies to ensure the company is positioned favorably within the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Support the leadership team in dispute resolution, regulatory inquiries, and other contentious matters.
• Stay informed on global regulatory developments affecting the crypto and blockchain industries, ensuring WalletConnect Foundation meets compliance requirements.
