About Rain

At Rain, we’re rebuilding the global financial pipes money flows through. Our infrastructure makes stablecoins usable in the real world by powering credit card transactions, cross-border payments, B2B purchases, remittances, and more. We partner with fintechs, neobanks, and institutions to help them launch solutions that are global, inclusive, and efficient. If you’re curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial system, we’d love to talk.

Our Ethos

Operating at the epicenter of stablecoin innovation means moving fast and thinking globally. Our team reflects the diverse, international audiences we serve. We hire people who stay agile as the tide ebbs and flows, fix what’s broken without waiting, chase trends before they peak, and remember to have fun through it all.

About the Role

We’re looking for our first IT Manager to own and evolve Rain’s internal technology and security foundation as we scale. Today, Rain is growing quickly with frequent onboarding, expanding tooling, and increasing security requirements. We operate in a sector that is actively targeted by malicious actors so we need someone who can baseline security—bringing structure, best practices, and calm execution to a fast-moving environment.

This role is both hands-on and strategic. You’ll manage day-to-day IT operations while also leading key security initiatives like access controls, device management, MFA, and audits across our internal tools. As Rain scales globally, you’ll design systems and processes that scale with the company.

Reporting to the CTO, you’ll work cross-functionally to ensure employees have the tools they need to work effectively, without compromising security or compliance. This is a foundational role with significant ownership and the opportunity to shape how IT and security operate at Rain for years to come.

What You’ll Do

Own IT operations end-to-end

  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including laptops, device provisioning, access setup, and troubleshooting.

  • Serve as the primary owner of Rain’s IT vendors and tooling (e.g., Deel IT, JumpCloud), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and clear escalation paths.

  • Coordinate device lifecycle management, including MDM enrollment, device returns, replacements, and inventory tracking.

  • Support employees with day-to-day IT needs such as access issues, VPN support, and hardware troubleshooting.

Build scalable access and identity management

  • Own identity and access management across tools, ensuring users have the right access at the right time.

  • Design and maintain role-based access controls across core systems (e.g., Google Workspace, cloud tools, internal SaaS).

  • Audit and clean up existing permissions across tools, including 1Password vault access and admin roles.

Raise Rain’s internal security posture

  • Manage security configurations across internal tools, including MFA enforcement, device policies, and authentication standards.

  • Lead the rollout and management of hardware-based authentication (e.g., YubiKeys).

  • Define and document policies around device usage, access, and security best practices.

  • Partner with Engineering and Security to identify gaps, improve controls, and prepare for future audits or compliance needs.

Enable scale and automation

  • Improve and automate IT workflows using tools like JumpCloud (e.g., preconfigured apps, scripts, policies).

  • Ensure enterprise plans, licenses, and seat usage are managed efficiently across tools.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve Rain’s internal IT and security stack as the company grows.

Office and vendor coordination

  • Support new office setup and office IT needs, coordinating with external partners as needed.

  • Act as the point person for IT-related vendor relationships, contracts, and negotiations.

Who You Are

  • Owner mindset – You take pride in being the person who “gets things done,” owning problems end-to-end and improving systems proactively.

  • IT & Security fluent – You have strong hands-on experience in IT operations and are comfortable owning foundational security practices in a growing company.

  • Operationally excellent – You thrive in environments with frequent onboarding, fast growth, and evolving needs, and you know how to build processes that scale.

  • Technically fluent – Comfortable working with identity providers, MDM tools, access management systems, VPNs, and modern SaaS environments.

  • Security-conscious – You think deeply about least privilege, access controls, and authentication, even when balancing speed and usability.

  • Clear communicator – You can explain technical concepts simply, write clear documentation, and partner effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Experienced – 4–7+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or similar roles, ideally at a hyper growth startup or fintech business.

Nice to Have

  • Experience being an early or first IT hire, building processes and foundations from scratch.

  • Familiarity with security tooling and best practices (MDM, MFA, hardware keys, audits).

  • Experience supporting hybrid or in-office environments and office IT setups.

  • Background working in fintech, crypto, Web3, or other regulated industries.

  • Exposure to compliance or audit preparation (SOC 2, ISO, etc.).
