Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Consultant to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with an established network in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry who can leverage their existing relationships to drive new business for Salt - a B2B SaaS solution (software as a service). The position offers significant equity and commission-based compensation, reflecting our commitment to rewarding successful outcomes.

You will spearhead efforts to establish partnerships and drive sales with major pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, helping them leverage Salt AI's SaaS platform for drug discovery and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Leverage your existing network and relationships within the pharmaceutical and biotech space to identify and secure new partnership opportunities. Convert warm leads into successful commercial partnerships.
  • Strategic Deal Navigation: Guide potential clients through the entire buying journey, from initial engagement to successful deal closure, utilizing your deep industry expertise and relationships.
  • Relationship Management: Nurture and expand your network of decision-makers within target pharmaceutical companies, positioning Salt AI as the premier software solution for AI-driven drug discovery.
  • Solution Consulting: Provide strategic consultation throughout the sales cycle, aligning Salt AI's capabilities with prospect needs and facilitating successful transactions.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities from your network, and work closely with leadership to nurture and close new business.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of business development or sales experience in pharmaceutical/ biotech / life sciences, with a proven track record of closing enterprise deals
  • Network: Established relationships with senior decision-makers in major biotech and pharma companies
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of life sciences industry buying cycles and decision-making processes
  • Track Record: Demonstrated history of successful deal closure in enterprise software or technology sales to pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences companies
  • Skills: Expert-level consultation, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, life sciences, or related field preferred
