The global lottery market is $355 billion with 57% of Americans buying a ticket every year. Yet, lotteries are primarily offline due to local regulations and sales through physical stores. Megapot leverages blockchain immutability, composability, and liquidity for global compliance and online sales.
The Megapot protocol uniquely bootstraps a big jackpot with a novel liquidity provider mechanism. LPs “market make” long-shot odds and take a fee from exclusively retail flow. Our UI kit enables anyone to easily sell tickets, with third-party apps driving the majority of protocol volume already. We think our current protocol is like Uniswap V1, and we’re building the V2 that will stand the test of time.
We haven’t announced publicly, but we’ve raised $5M from Tier 1 crypto investors, plus founders of the world’s largest iGaming brands and protocols with $10B+ in TVL, as well as prominent Ethereum foundation researchers.
Your Role
You will lead smart contract development, research, and integrations. You will:
- Co-lead incentive design encompassing fees, points, and tokenomics with the founder. You’ll craft economic models and dynamic fee curves to maintain marketplace balance.
- Build entirely new protocols at global scale. This is pioneering work - not another DEX clone. No crypto app matches our ambition, since success requires tens of millions of users outside crypto.
- Research, apply, and invent smart contract paradigms. You’ll work on problems such as manipulation-resistant onchain randomness or efficiently drawing millions of fractional tickets.
- Own integrations such as cross-chain solutions and yield protocols
Requirements
- 3+ years as a solidity engineer
- 5+ years as a software engineer
- Experience building protocols at scale ($10M+ TVL or 10k+ users)
- Experience working at a startup
Compensation and Benefits
- We offer higher salary and equity than comparable startups:
- Salary: $150k to 225k
- Equity: 1.5% to 3%+, with 7 year exercise window
