About The Role

We are hiring a Director – Finance to lead taxation and controllership for a fast-scaling crypto exchange and brokerage. This role will drive robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and tax excellence in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.


What You Will Do

Taxation

  • Own end-to-end direct and indirect taxation (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.)

  • Interpret and implement crypto-specific tax requirements in India

  • Lead tax planning, structuring, and optimization

  • Manage assessments, audits, and litigation

  • Drive transfer pricing and cross-border tax matters for global operations

  • Partner with external advisors (including Big4 firms)

Controllership

  • Lead financial reporting and monthly/annual close

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements

  • Establish and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies

  • Own statutory audits and internal audits

  • Build scalable processes across GL, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Oversee accounting for high-volume transactions and digital assets

Systems & Process Excellence

  • Drive automation and scalability of finance systems (Oracle NetSuite, reconciliation tools)

  • Implement best practices for high-growth environments

  • Ensure audit-ready processes and documentation

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team

  • Drive accountability, rigor, and continuous improvement

What You Should Have

  • Chartered Accountant with 13–15 years of experience

  • 2–5 years in Big4 (tax or audit preferred)

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Taxation (direct & indirect)

    • Financial reporting and controllership

  • Experience in startups/scale-ups

  • Ability to operate in fast-changing, ambiguous environments

Preferred Experience

  • Fintech, financial services, broking, or crypto exposure

  • Experience with cross-border taxation and global structures

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite
