THE ROLE

We are looking for a Founding Senior Protocol Engineer to lead the design and development of the Button protocol. If the idea of leading development of the next generation of lending and debt protocols purpose built for CLOBs like Hyperliquid motivates you, this role is for you.

It is our belief that the current de facto money markets originally built on Ethereum were imagined for a different era of crypto abilities, beliefs, and users. Environments like Hyperliquid expand the design area of protocols significantly, where the protocol can now tap into liquid perp markets and new yield opportunities.

In this role, you will lead all protocol development for Button, working closely with the CTO to reimagine the next generation of lending and debt markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the architecture, technical design, and implementation of Button’s protocols

  • Lead and mentor a team of protocol engineers, establishing a culture of craftsmanship, security and velocity

  • Collaborate closely with researchers to validate and test designs

  • Collaborate with auditors and security engineers to ensure safety of the protocol

  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to established coding standards and best practices

QUALIFACTIONS

  • 3+ years of experience working in Solidity in EVM in production environments, specifically focused in DeFi products

  • 2+ years of experience working with a modern backend languages (Go, Rust, Python, etc) in distributed architectures

  • Experience building lending protocols in a smart contract language is a plus, but not required

  • Experience integrating TEEs into smart contract protocols a plus, but not required
